Our Trustees


The Salusbury WORLD trustees are all either refugee parents or experts in the field of refugee education.

Doris Bancroft

Chair of Trustees and Chair of Governors at Salusbury Primary School, particular responsibilities include Special educational Needs and Child Protection. Former local government officer in ILEA and local education departments across London.

Sabri Koteci

Treasurer. Refugee parent, current service user. Former Government level auditor in Albania. Currently auditor with Department for Trade and Industry.

Fatema Darakah

Refugee parent, current service user. Former journalist from Iran. Volunteer interpreter/assistant advisor.


Hakim Mohamoud

Refugee, Former refugee officer for Brent. Currently Social Inclusion manager at John Kelly Boys Technology College.

Lois Mutesi

Refugee parent. Former service user and volunteer. Currently freelance lecturer at Roehampton Institute and learning support assistant at Stonebridge Primary School. About to embark on PGCE.

Carol Munro

Former head teacher of Salusbury Primary School. Founder of the charity. Expert in social inclusion, emotional and educational needs of refugee children. Consultant on these issues and member of panel on youth justice.

David Kaye

Consultant and teacher of numeracy to adults. Former grants officer. Much experience of working with adults from diverse groups and of the voluntary sector.

Elaine Clarke

Head teacher of Salusbury Primary School.

Nicky Road

Education Consultant, expert on Early Years Education and children's participation. Former assistant programme director at Save the Children.

Dhurata Loku

Refugee parent. Former service user. Has volunteered for training sessions. Currently working for Brent Library Service.

Helga Gladbaum

Former labour councillor for Queen"s Park. Previously head of the education committee at Brent Council.
